There are various risks involved with operating in a workshop of any type. Your tools and equipment could become damaged, lost or even stolen, or the work you are undertaking for a client could actually damage their property. Furthermore, the employees and various types of visitors you may have in your workshop, could be injured or worse.

All of these eventualities are possible however unlikely they may seem, and workshop insurance is designed to help when things go wrong. Workshop accidents and incidents cost money, and it will be between you and your insurance provider to assess the level of cover you need to protect you against the risks.

Workholding for our CNC mill is essential for securing and positioning your workpieces during machining processes. We offer two primary options for workholding: a vice and a 3-jaw chuck. The vice is a versatile clamping device that securely holds your material in place, allowing for precise milling and shaping. On the other hand, the 3-jaw chuck is an ideal choice for gripping cylindrical or irregularly shaped objects. It provides a firm and centered grip, ensuring accuracy during machining. Whether you’re working with flat stock or cylindrical components, our workholding options are designed to accommodate a wide range of projects, providing stability and precision for your CNC milling needs.
The CNC Lathe will have a 3 jaw chuck pre-installed. The CNC Mill will have a vice provided.
While we offer a selection of round and square aluminum materials available for purchase on-site to cater to a variety of projects, we highly recommend that you bring your own materials suitable for your specific project needs. CAD, or Computer-Aided Design, is a special computer program that helps designers and engineers make detailed drawings and plans of things like machines, buildings, and products. It’s like a digital tool that makes it easier and faster to create and test designs before they’re actually built in the real world. CAD is used in many industries to save time, reduce mistakes, and make better designs.
CAM, or Computer-Aided Manufacturing, is like a computer wizard that helps turn our design plans, made with CAD, into actual things. It’s like the brain that guides machines, such as CNC machines, by creating a special path for the cutting tools to follow. This path ensures that the machines cut, shape, or build things accurately and precisely, just as we designed them on the computer.
